HaruBit terms of use

Last updated: October 31, 2026

These terms apply when you use HaruBit, the Korean course app. HaruBit is made and sold by its developer ("we"), whose name, postal address and email address are shown on HaruBit's Google Play listing. By installing or using HaruBit you agree to them. They don't take away any rights you have under the consumer law of the country where you live.

Free start and purchases

HaruBit is free to download. The Hangul course, the first two units of Stage 1 (TOPIK 1), the level check and unit tests, and reviews, practice, flashcards, the Library and listening for everything you have unlocked or learned are free.

The rest of the course is unlocked with one-time in-app purchases: TOPIK 1 (the rest of Stage 1), the full course (every stage), and TOPIK 2 and up (Stage 2 and every later stage, offered to owners of TOPIK 1). There is no subscription: you pay once. What each product includes and its price are shown in the app and by Google Play before you buy.

Purchases are sold through Google Play, which handles payment and refunds under the Google Play Terms of Service and Google Play's refund policies. A purchase belongs to your Google account: it unlocks the course on every device signed in to that account, and Restore purchases in the app unlocks it again after a reinstall. If a purchase is refunded or reversed, the lessons it unlocked lock again; your progress stays.

Right of withdrawal. An unlock is digital content supplied as soon as you buy it. If you live in the EU, the EEA or the UK, you have a right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days, but by buying you ask for the content to be supplied straight away and acknowledge that you lose that right once it is, as Google Play asks you to confirm at checkout. Google Play may still refund a purchase under its own policies.

Stages added later. The full course and TOPIK 2 and up include every stage of HaruBit's Korean course we add later, at no extra cost. Whatever you bought stays yours: we never take away content you have unlocked. A genuinely different product, such as a separate course, may be sold on its own.

Your license

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use HaruBit, with the content you unlocked, on the Android devices linked to your Google account, for your own learning. You may not copy, resell, redistribute or publish HaruBit or its course content, text, audio or pictures, or get around the purchases that unlock it, except for the pictures the app makes for you to share and except where the law allows it. The open-source parts of HaruBit are under their own licenses, listed in the app under Settings › About HaruBit › Open-source licenses.

The course

HaruBit's lessons follow the standards of the National Institute of Korean Language. We work to keep the course accurate, but it may contain mistakes; please report them with the flag button in a lesson so we can fix them. HaruBit is a learning aid and doesn't certify a language level.

We keep improving HaruBit. Updates may change, add or remove features, as long as the app and the content you bought keep working as described when you bought them. We supply the updates needed to keep it working and secure on supported Android versions.

Your account

Signing in with Google is optional and is only used to sync your progress. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings, or as described at harubit.app/delete-account. How we handle your data is described in the privacy policy.

Please don't try to read or change other people's data, disrupt the sync service, or use HaruBit against the law. We may suspend an account that does.

If something goes wrong

If HaruBit doesn't work as described, contact us and we'll fix it; you also keep every remedy consumer law gives you, such as repair, a price reduction or a refund.

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for problems caused by your device, Google Play or other services we don't control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for intent or gross negligence, or under mandatory consumer law.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; the new version is published at this address with a new date, and doesn't apply to purchases made before it in a way that takes away rights you had. These terms are governed by the law of the country where we are established. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live and can bring a claim there.
